In the year 1790, in the glen of Sleepy Hollow, Icabod Crane, a school teacher from Connecticut, settled. He became the lonely school teacher that didn't quite fit in, gaining the affection of Katrina Van Tassel. The only problem with his happy ever after, was Brom Bones, a rugged, oaf of a man, who wished to gain Katrina's affections. Late one night Ichabod was chased by a horsemen with flaming eyes, and a pumpkin head, on a steed as black as night, the next day all they found was poor Ichabod's hat and satchel, on the side of the road near a pumpkin. The towns folk said the hessian had gotten him, some even said Brom had chased him out, What really happened 220 years ago?

2009. Crane has come back, but not the way you would think. Charlie Crane, Ichabod's many times great grand daughter, travels back to the place that still haunts her dreams. Her father had taught her the story as well as his father, she knew it forward and back. She was back to once and for all lay to rest this mystery that lays over her families head.
A school teacher by trade, turned headmistress, she traveled home to Sleepy Hollow to renovate the old school house, and make a boarding school. It took 8 months to rebuild Ichabod Crane Academy, and now, Charlie's dreams are starting to come true. What lies in store for her? Will the hessian make a come back? Will Charlie meet the fate her forefather should have?
Will history repeat itself or will Charlie find out what really happened?
