"rping isn't just about acting on the reply you get, it's about how your character reacts to it [whilst] giving the other person something to react to; it's about interaction; it's creative writing. [Otherwise] there's no substance to the character... it's flat."

Hello and welcome to Masqueraded Murders!
As a new member, you will be required to create a unique character profile and post it under the appropriate board for approval before you will be allowed to start RP-ing. [The only place you will be allowed to post is under the OOC boards until approval.]
During your time here, we highly recomend you work on post and word count. A good post varies but the general rule of thumb is around 700 words and up. Set a goal for yourself and try to get those posts up there! If the best you can do is 700, thats great! But no more measly museless 200 worders. If you don't have ideas, don't post. We're patient. ^^ In addition, how are you supposed to get a good reply if your posts don't have any character development whatsoever? Think about it and let's get working on it! If you can't, the bare minimum is 600 but please strive for more. You can do it!
General Rules
*Respect everyone on the site, especially staff members.
*Try to get on at least twice a week so the threads and plots can continue at a good pace.
*Keep all heated arguments and fights to PM--do not argue on the chat boards. We don't want to hear about it, ok?
*Don't be stupid--this is an open website. Don't give out personal information, and don't ask for it.
Posting Rules
*This is a literate site, so in roleplay please write at least 600-650 minimum words.
*Do not use chatspeak in roleplay. u may nvr talk lyke diz!11!. It's annoying x.x
*No double-posting, please. If you have something to add to a conversation, you can just edit your post beforehand.
Roleplaying Rules
*No God-moding or Powerplaying, meaning you cannot act as if your charrie is all-powerful, nor may you play another person's character.
*If you want to say something OOC while you are roleplaying, indicate it by putting (( )) around the words or OOC: before them.
Bios
*Keep your charries realistic and canons must be kept under thier personality roles!
*When it comes to personalities and appearances, be sure to give your charrie some flaws. Perfect characters are just no fun and utterly unacceptable.
*You can have as many characters as you want, but if it gets out of hand and you cannot keep all of them active, some will be deleted.
Sex Threads
Alright, as a city rpg with the topic of scandals and love affairs floating about, the topic of sex threads must be addressed. On this site, we refuse to allow such material and if it is so nessecary for a plot, skip over it please and say it happened. Do not rp it out for you will be instantly banned for good.
R-P golden rule. Must be in third person. Not first. Ever.
First person: “I walked slowly down the desolate, blood reeking dungeon…”
Third person: “She walked down the passage in confusion as a Slytherin first year gawked…”
